Dior Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection: a fusion of eclectic formalwear

After the “indefinite” postponement of its scheduled Pre-Fall 2024 runway show at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Dior Men’s has chosen to unveil its latest collection through a vibrant blue lookbook, captured by photographer Jackie Nickerson.

Under the creative direction of Kim Jones, the collection offers a fresh perspective on formalwear, infused with a playful twist. Overcoats feature geometric cut-outs, while lapel-heavy coats dazzle in bright blue leather. Collared shirts are adorned with loose bowties instead of buttons, offering a subtle peek at the wearer’s torso, and grey long-sleeve shirts feature dual zippers for versatile styling. Knit sweaters showcase the iconic Dior Oblique monogram alongside wavy check patterns, while understated saddle bags transform into discreet clutches with minimal branding.

Kim Jones masterfully blends traditional dress codes with a casual flair in his Dior Men’s collection. Structured blazers are paired with relaxed, baggy dress trousers, and “Christian Dior” caps add a contemporary touch. Tailored shorts feature delicate organza detailing below the knee, injecting a playful element into the collection. Neutral suiting is elevated with utilitarian handbags and vibrant lace-up shoes inspired by football shapes. Unexpected pairings, such as tuxedo trousers with hole-punched knits, showcase Jones’ talent for merging polished style with a playful aesthetic, defining Dior’s modern menswear identity.
