Defoe, Oldman and Brody are Prada villains

In 2012, Prada took an unconventional approach by recruiting actors renowned for their villainous roles to showcase their suits, in which the phrase “the devil wears Prada” took on a literal meaning.

For the fall 2012 men’s show at Milan Fashion Week, Prada opted for a twist by featuring a cast of notable antagonists instead of traditional models. The runway saw the likes of Willem Dafoe, Tim Roth, Adrien Brody, Gary Oldman, Emile Hirsch, Garrett Hedlund and Jamie Bell.

Actors celebrated for their portrayals of villains in iconic films such as “Spider-Man” and “Pulp Fiction,” strutted down the runway in sharp, austere suits, with any ensembles included knee-length, double-breasted jackets, and the actors delivered their most menacing expressions to the captivated audience as they navigated the carpeted venue. Despite the show being over a decade old, Prada’s Villains showcase has recently been trending on social media. Edits featuring the actors on the runway have gone viral on TikTok, often set to music by artists like Lana Del Rey and David Bowie.
